This is not his punch dialogue but it is a self explanatory about his character in this film.
Director Venkat Prabhu says, "In one way it is true." Ajith has voluntarily donned the negative role in this film. In Vaali, he donned dual roles.
Of one, this was a villainous role. But in Mankatha he has journeyed throughout the film in a negative role. This will be a milestone in his cinema career. Venkat Prabhu tells that how he managed Ajith to do this role. He said, "When I wrote this story, I did not keep Ajith in mind. In fact, he came into this film by accident. I wrote this script for my boys only. Ajith when he came to know that I am going to do a film for Cloud Nine, he called upon me to greet me. As he was conversing, he said, "Prabhu, write a script for me.
Even if my role is fully negative, I wouldn’t mind. I am bored in acting in stereo typed roles." Suddenly I had a flash. Reluctantly I told this script. I told him, "There are five important characters in this film. All the four are bad and the fifth one is the worst among all."
He immediately said that he will act in this film. He accepted this role on the phone itself. Only few days before going to shoot I narrated him the whole script. The above dialogue exhibits its significance. "
