My father does not know to act behind the camera: Actor Prabhu
The trailer of yester year film Pasamalar which was recently revived using the latest digital technology was released recently. Prabhu speaking on this occasion mentioned that his father only knows to act before the camera and not behind the camera.
The movie Pasamalar which hit the screens in 1961 is still remembered for cosmological performances by Sivaji Ganesan, Savithri and Gemini Ganesan. Pasamalar spoke about sibling love and won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil then.
Directed by Bhimsingh, the movie had music by Viswanathan and T K Ramamurthy for soul-stirring lyrics by Kannadhasan. Dialogues of Aroordass were the movie's stronghold.
Though many films of such types were made, none could out beat this emotional film. This film cannot be erased from the memory of people and it still lingers in the mind of the people. This film is termed as a classic. This film had mind-blowing songs like Malargalai Pool Thangai, Mayangugiraal, Engalukkum Kaalam Varum, Yaar Yaar Avar Yaaro, Vaarayen Thozhi Vaarayo and Malarnthum Malaradha Paathimalar Pola.
Now this film has been revived according to the present trend using DI and DTS technology. This revived film will be in a cinemascope format. This film is being released on 15th August.
The trailer of this film was released recently in Sathyam Cinemas recently. Shivaji Ganesan’s sons Prabhu, Ram Kumar and daughter Thaenmozhi released the trailer which was received by Gemini Ganesan’s daughter Kamala Selvaraj, Savithri’s daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari and Bhimsingh daughter Suchitra.
Speaking on this occasion, Prabhu said, "You (fans, audience and media) are the breath of my father. His life breath is filled in this place. When my father was alive, you showered your affection on him. You gave your full support to him. After that you showed your love and affection towards me. Now my son Vikram Prabhu has come to act. You are supporting him also. We will be well as long as you are all there. We will not forget our father’s fan till our death. When Rajnikanth came to Kumki function in which my son Vikram Prabhu donned the lead role, he said that he had come for the sake of Shivaji Ganesan. Like that everyone is seated here has come for my mother sake. My father knows to act in front of the camera and not at the back of the camera."
